Anthony M. Brown currently works for Chianese & Reilly Law heading their family and estates law division serving unmarried individuals, same sex individuals, and couples and all families in New York City and on Long Island. His focus is on same sex estate and probate issues, as well as second parent and stepparent adoptions. In 2014, he was named to Super Lawyers Rising Stars edition. He was named to Super Lawyer Estate Planning & Probate section in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Mr. Brown was the Executive Director of The Wedding Party and was a Board member since its inception in 1999. The Wedding Party was a nonprofit educational organization that educated the public about marriage and its importance to all citizens through outreach programs and strategic media placement. The Wedding Party closed its doors in 2013.
He is also the Chairman Emeritus of the nonprofit organization Men Having Babies. Mr. Reilly has worked as a law guardian at The Children’s Law Center, representing the legal needs of children in Brooklyn Family Court, and has also worked as a legal intern for Lambda Legal in the summer of 2002. While there he helped to prepare briefing for the landmark case of Lawrence v. Texas and his research was quoted specifically in Justice Sandra Day O’Connor’s concurring opinion. Mr. Brown is a 2016 recipient of the Gay City News Impact Award.
Mr. Brown graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where he served as research assistant to Nan Hunter, the founder of The Gay and Lesbian Project at the ACLU.
